Xperia X, X Compact, XZ and X Performance getting May Android security patch with low volume fix
The update also brings performance and stability improvements for Xperia handsets.
Sony is rolling out the latest Android security patches for its Xperia smartphones including Xperia XZ, X Performance, Xperia X and X Compact.
Along with Android security patch level for May, the update brings build version 41.2.A.2.223 for Xperia XZ and X Performance, whereas the build number for Xperia X and X Compact is 34.2.A.2.69.
Xperia X and X Compact owners who were looking for a bump in Android Nougat version might be disappointed as the Android version remains same for them, at 7.0 as of now, reports Xperiablog.
Meanwhile, Sony has updated the support pages for all the aforementioned Xperia devices to reflect the changes the update brings.
According to the official changelog, the update bundles the latest security enhancements, along with improvements over performance and stability. It also fixes the issue with low music volume after calling using a Car kit with Android Auto.
You may download and install the update manually, if you have received the notification about the update. Just pull down the status bar to open the Notification panel, then scroll down and select the update. Then tap Download. Once the download is complete, open the Notification panel, then tap Install and follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation process.
When the update is complete, you may check the latest version running on the phone manually by going to Settings>> About phone>> Build number.
