Andy Murray and Kim Sears wedding: Their relationship in pictures
Tennis champion Andy Murray is set to tie the knot with his long-time girlfriend Kim Sears on Saturday 11 April 2015, bringing to a close their fairytale relationship and marking the start of a long-awaited marriage.
The loved-up couple, both aged 27, will be saying their marriage vows at Dunblane Cathedral in Murray's Scottish home town in front of a carefully selected group of friends and family.
It will be the day that their nearest and dearest, including the tennis player's beloved mother Judy Murray, have been waiting for since Murray finally got down on one knee and proposed to Sears in November 2014.
The Wimbledon winner is believed to have met the artist in 2005 at a US Open party when they were still just teenagers. At the time, Sears was travelling with her father, Nigel Sears, who was head coach at the Lawn Tennis Association.
The rest, as they say, is history. In 2006, the media caught wind of their relationship, forcing them to go public and Sears has been there every step of the way for Murray, anxiously watching courtside.
Even the player's grandmother, Shirley Erskine, couldn't help but gush over how "supportive" the painter is, recently telling Hello magazine: "The whole family has taken to Kim. She's very attractive, very artistic and so supportive."
Now that the wedding ring is almost on her finger, it is only a matter of time before the baby questions arise but Murray seems ready to settle down, telling The Jonathan Ross Show in 2013: "I would like to start a family and try to be a good father. That's important to me."
