Calvin Harris cancels LA shows after receiving facial injuries in head-on car smash
The 32-year-old DJ was injured after a car driven by a 16-year-old woman, smashed into his vehicle. Harris is said to have received medical attention for lacerations to his face. According to the LAPD Valley Traffic Division, the record producer received wounds sustained in a head-on collision in Sherman Oaks on Friday, 20 May. Harris suffered a cut on the bridge of his nose, according to CBS Los Angeles.
It's alleged that Harris discharged himself from hospital "against medical advice" after he was told there were no private rooms available for him, said celebrity website TMZ.
The driver of the VW Bug convertible, which had crossed the centre line before the crash and hit Harris' vehicle, a Cadillac SUV, is believed to have need medical treatment and was admitted to hospital. A passenger is said to have suffered a broken pelvis.
Harris has now cancelled his future shows. A message on his official Facebook page stated: "Adam's transport was involved in a collision this evening on the way to the airport.
"As a result he will be unable to perform at Omnia tonight. He has been examined by doctors and told to rest for a few days."
The Scottish producer, whose real name is Adam Richard Wiles, had to pull out of a performance at the Omnia nightclub in Las Vegas. Harris is dating Taylor Swift and they recently celebrated their first-year anniversary.
The 26-year-old singer thanked the DJ in her acceptance speech at the iHeartRadio Awards in April, where she won Album Of The Year, Female Artist Of The Year, Best Tour and Most Meme-able Moment.
She said: "For the first time I had the most amazing person to come home to when the spotlight went out and when the crowds were all gone. So I want to thank my boyfriend Adam for that and I love you guys so much."
