Chris Brown denies assaulting fan during concert in Cannes
Chris Brown has denied assaulting a fan when he performed at a nightclub in Cannes, France on 18 May. A video that surfaced after the concert shows the Turn Up The Music rapper stomping on a fan's head at Gotha nightclub. However, it is unclear whether the rapper accidentally or purposely struck the fan.
The rapper recently posted a video claiming that he was the one who got assaulted. "F*** you," he said in the post according to HollywoodLife. "No fans were hurt by Chris Brown, no fans were beat up by Chris Brown."
He continued: "His staff though, security, I don't think he probably knew who I was, I don't care, but he assaulted me. Grabbed his hands around my throat and tried to push me out the spot when we were walking, my security was already outside of the spot."
TMZ identified that fan as Malek Mokrani – who suffered head and neck injuries – and had threatened to file a police report about the incident. The website has also shared a photo of the alleged victim lying on a hospital bed with a neck brace and a bruised face.
This is not the first time the 27-year-old rapper has been involved in controversy in Cannes. In 2012, he reportedly got into a fight with security personnel when he was told that his table was not reserved in the VIP area at a nightclub.
In 2009 as well, the rapper had assaulted his former girlfriend Rihanna. The Diamonds singer reportedly suffered injuries on her face. Her lip was allegedly split in the assault and she had a bloody nose.
