Show host Strahan said in a statement: "I am excited to host a night honoring some of the most talented people in the industry."
"The Critics' Choice Movie Awards show paves the way for the upcoming awards season, and the best part is that the winners are selected by the very people who make a living watching and reviewing films. It doesn't get much more competitive than that."
This year, Birdman leads the pack with 13 nominations, while The Grand Budapest Hotel and Boyhood are also top contenders with 11 and eight nominations respectively.
"It's been a great year for movies," Broadcast Film Critics Association president Joey Berlin said.
"Filmmakers have demonstrated that riveting, magical and provocative stories can be told in an incredible range of styles and techniques. The members of the BFCA and our new partners at A&E are proud to salute wonderful films and performances in the traditional categories and a wide variety of popular genres including Comedy, Action and Sci-Fi/Horror. Audiences love all kinds of movies – and so do we," Berlin added.
