Demi Moore 'in absolute shock' as Edenilison Valle named as man who drowned in her pool
Demi Moore has said she is in "absolute shock" following the naming of the young man that was found dead in the swimming pool of her Los Angeles home over the weekend.
In the early hours of Sunday morning (19 July), the body of a man was discovered lying at the bottom of the pool in Los Angeles, California.
It has now been revealed that the man is 21-year-old Edenilison Valle, said to be a friend of an assistant of Moore's. It has also been reported that Valle had no connection to the Moore family in any other way.
Speaking about the incident, the Ghost star stated: "I am in absolute shock. I was out of the country travelling to meet my daughters for a birthday celebration when I got the devastating news."
She described the incident as an "unthinkable tragedy," saying "my heart goes out to this young man's family and friends."
Investigations are still under-way as to what happened as police officers try to work out who was involved. Local police had already confirmed that no member of the Moore family was present on the evening of the accident.
Police involved also told TMZ that they suspected the man drowned when he slipped and fell into the water. However, another theory circulating is that he fell off a lilo after falling asleep.
An LA policeman recently told The Sun: "Officers are still there at the house dealing with the investigation. We do not know who threw the party. Demi Moore was not home and neither were her daughters."
A neighbour had previously claimed that Moore's daughters Rumer, 26, Scout, 24 and Tallulah, 21, had thrown a series of pool parties at the mansion "every day, day and night" for the past couple of weeks.
According to US police reports, five people were at the residence at the time of Valle's drowning, one of whom was Moore's assistant. It is unknown whether the 52-year-old actress knew that the party was taking place.
