Duggar daughters to return on TLC: Network announces 2 'specials' featuring Jessa and Jill

The Duggars are returning on TLC. Or at least, fans of the Arkansas family will get to sisters Jessa and Jill in two "specials", the network has announced. TLC plans to air the two episodes to highlight the substantial changes in the lives of the sisters.

Jessa is preparing to welcome her first baby with husband Ben Seewald, while 24-year-old Jill has relocated to Central America along with her family for missionary work.

"What we will be following in these specials is Jessa preparing for her first child," Nancy Daniels, the executive vice president and general manager for TLC told the Associated Press. "And we'll be watching Jill preparing to make a major move to Central America with her family, which we know is something our audience will be interested in," she said.

One of the specials is expected to feature Derick Dillard and his wife's charity mission in El Salvador, which has been widely criticised by some fans. The couple had sought for donations from their work, but were spotted in the US on two different occasions.

Fans were quick to accuse the couple of misusing funds that were provided to help them in their charity work.

Meanwhile, Derick wrote on Instagram, "We are looking forward to reconnecting with everyone with the new specials on TLC—many have asked about our mission work and about the challenges of taking our family to a different country, culture and learning a new language. We appreciate your prayers."

Jim Bob and his wife Michelle Duggar have also congratulated their daughters for their return on TV, after 19 Kids And Counting was cancelled post the Josh Duggar molestation and cheating scandals.

"We appreciate all the prayers for our family," the Duggars wrote on their Facebook page. "God has drawn us closer to Him and to each other this summer. We are grateful that the new TLC specials set to air this fall will be sharing special moments with Jill, Derick and Israel on the foreign mission field and following Ben and Jessa as they prepare for the arrival of their first baby!

TLC is yet to announce the date when the episodes will be aired, however reports suggest that fans can expect it to telecast by the year-end.
