Manchester United vs PSV: Wayne Rooney, Anthony Martial and Marouane Fellaini back from injury
Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal has revealed Wayne Rooney, Anthony Martial and Marouane Fellaini are ready to return to action for the Champions League game against PSV Eindhoven on 25 November. The Dutch boss, however, confirmed Michael Carrick, Ander Herrera and Phil Jones will be on the sidelines alongside long-term injured stars Antonio Valencia and Luke Shaw.
The Premier League giants host the Eredivisie champions on 25 November in search of victory to secure an automatic spot in the knockout stages. But Van Gaal's will have to reorganise his line-up for the challenge after Herrera and Phil Jones sustained injuries during the Premier League victory at Watford on 21 November.
The Dutch boss has confirmed the duo have failed to recover on time for the game at Old Trafford, joining to Valencia, Shaw and Carrick on the list of absentees.
"We have five injured players - you know Luke Shaw, then the next one was Antonio Valencia, he was operated on weeks ago and after the international break it was Michael Carrick. The last match it was Ander Herrera and Phil Jones. They cannot play. The other players are available," Van Gaal said.
"I compare, I compare always players with each other and I take into account how fit they are and how fit they show in the training sessions and that's why Marouane Fellaini, Anthony Martial and Wayne Rooney have to show it on the training ground.
"Then I have to compare players with who are the best players to fit in with our game plan. That is the same procedure with every match."
The manager also revealed Bastian Schweinsteiger missed the training session on 24 November as the veteran midfielder needed more time to recover but will be ready for the game against PSV. James Wilson, meanwhile, is also expected to be available after he trained with the rest of the squad, having missed the Watford game after picking up a knock before the trip to north London.
