Mila Kunis and Ashton Kutcher, Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt: 14 secret celebrity weddings
Some celebrity couples such as George Clooney and Amal Alamuddin prefer to live their lives with huge fanfare while others such as Mila Kunis and Ashton Kutcher opt for the quiet life, getting married in secret.
Jupiter Ascending actress Kunis, 31, is said to have confirmed her wedding to the Two And A Half Men actor during an appearance on The Late Late Show With James Corden this week.
If reports are true, the former That 70s Show co-stars aren't the first celebs to have tied the knot secretly. IBTimes UK takes a look back at the celebrity couples who evaded the paparazzi on their special days...
Scarlett Johansson and Romain Dauriac
A clerk at Granite County, Philipsburg, Montana, confirmed that the Lucy actress had tied the knot with the French journalist on 1 October 2014. However, the news was not revealed to the public until a couple of months later in December. A source told the New York Post: "They kept the wedding a big secret because they both wanted privacy."
Janet Jackson and Wissam Al Mana:
Reports had initially claimed that the very private couple had planned a lavish ceremony costing millions of dollars, so it came as a huge surprise when the All For You singer and billionaire businessman announced that they had married in 2012.
Jackson and Al Mana didn't announce the news to the public until 26 February 2013 with the following statement: "The rumours regarding an extravagant wedding are simply not true. Last year we were married in a quiet, private, and beautiful ceremony.
"Our wedding gifts to one another were contributions to our respective favourite children's charities. We would appreciate that our privacy is respected and that we are allowed this time for celebration and joy."
Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt:
After more than 10 years together and six children later, the Mr & Mrs Smith co-stars finally got married in a very low-key ceremony in August, 2014 at France's Chateau Miraval. Although that was their official white wedding, Jolie later revealed that she and Pitt, 50, had actually signed the papers in California before their big day.
"Before the wedding in France with the kids, Brad and I were already married in California. As Americans, we couldn't marry legally in France," Jolie told Italian magazine Io Donna.
Naya Rivera and Ryan Dorsey:
Just three months after her split from rapper Big Sean, the Glee actress suddenly married her close friend Ryan Dorsey on 19 July 2014, with their ceremony held in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. Rivera's relationship with Dorsey had not been revealed prior to their wedding announcement, so it came as a huge shock to her fans.
Beyonce and Jay-Z:
The Drunk In Love hitmakers had barely even confirmed their relationship when they tied the knot on 4 April 2008, at their New York City apartment. Guests seen arriving at the ceremony included Gwyneth Paltrow, Chris Martin and Beyonce's Destiny's Child bandmates. The couple did not release a statement announcing their nuptials but it was confirmed by multiple sources in the days after.
Cheryl Cole and Jean-Bernard Fernandez-Versini:
One of the biggest shockers of 2014 came when Cheryl Cole – as she was previously known – got hitched to the French businessman on 7 July. The ceremony was a complete secret from the media and took place on the island of Mustique. The Only Human singer changed her name to Cheryl Fernandez-Versini, dropping "Cole" which she had taken from her ex-husband Ashley Cole.
Olivia Palermo and Johannes Huebl:
The fashion designer suddenly moved forward her wedding date to model Huebl and the couple, who began dating in 2008, got married on 29 June 2014. Confirming the ceremony, which took place in Bedford, New York, Palermo said in a statement posted on her website: "We really wanted to keep this beautiful day very private and special to us and enjoyed the whole day with our family and two friends. Bedford is such an amazing and romantic countryside."
Zoe Saldana and Marco Perego:
The Avatar actress managed to keep her nuptials to the Italian artist under wraps from prying eyes, and they walked down the aisle in London in June 2013. A source told Us Weekly of the ceremony: "It was super small but very romantic and beautiful."
Kate Winslet and Ned Rocknroll:
Just a few months after their engagement was revealed, Winslet and Richard Branson's nephew married secretly in December 2012. The Mail Online reported that Winslet's Titanic co-star, Leonardo DiCaprio, gave her away during the private New York ceremony.
Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds:
A year after their relationship was revealed to the world, the former Gossip Girl actress and The Proposal star said their "I Dos" on 9 September 2012, at a hushed ceremony held in Mount Pleasant, South Carolina.
Rachel Weisz and Daniel Craig:
Agent 007 finally found "the one" and got married to the Bourne Legacy actress on 22 June 2011. Their New York wedding was so private that only four guests were in attendance.
Kerry Washington and Nnamdi Asomugha:
Although she is notoriously secretive about her private life, it still came as a surprise when reports emerged that the Scandal actress had gotten married on 24 June 2009, after obtaining a marriage licence in Idaho.
A clerk at the County Court told Us Weekly: "It has been recorded in the Blaine County clerk's office that Nnamdi Asomugha and Kerry Washington have been married on the 24th of June in the town of Hailey, Idaho."
Javier Bardem and Penelope Cruz:
The Vicky Cristina Barcelona co-stars tied the knot in a quiet ceremony in the Bahamas in July 2013. A rep confirmed to People that their big day was held at a friend's home on the Caribbean island and the bride wore a dress created by her friend, John Galliano.
Gisele Bundchen and Tom Brady:
The couple may enjoy plenty of PDA now but they told no one about their wedding, which took place on 26 February 2009. According to People, the ceremony was held at a small Catholic Church in Santa Monica, California.
