World Environment Day (WED) is observed annually on 5 June to raise awareness of issues such as marine pollution, global warming, sustainable consumption and wildlife crime. The day aims to encourage people to protect nature and wildlife. What better way to encourage an interest in our natural surroundings than by celebrating the spectacular diversity and beauty of our planet?
To celebrate WED 2016, IBTimes UK shares 25 gorgeous images that have been handpicked from GoPro's Photo of the Day feature, showcasing photos submitted by users of GoPro cameras around the world. Cash rewards are offered to both amateurs and professionals for the best photos and videos.
